BZ/HP Veela Story Notes
I don't think I've seen anything quite like this, so...

These aren't all my notes. I have other stuff, but they're less coherent so far. And would you believe that this all came to me while I was half asleep? Of course you would. ;)

How do Veela choose their mate? Is it a sort of "destined' thing? Magic compatibility? How does the magic choose in that case? What if they come across someone more compatible then their current Mate? Does a person's magic change any as they age/mature?

Idea One: Compatible Magic

  • Veela gene must be active and dominant
  • Veela gene/magic activates at the onset of 'accidental' magic. (age?)
  • Veela half/magic 'tastes' the magic of everyone the young Veela meets, up until the Choosing, of an eligible age (Up to 10 yrs younger-30 yrs older?)
  • Rejects everyone who's magic is not even remotely compatible
  • Magically sets a 'tethers' to everyone that meets basic requirements of age/magic.
  • [Gender is not an issue at this point unless the child has already made a marked preference for either particular gender, beyond the 'norm'.]
And yeah, I'm going to try and make it Blaise Zabini/Harry Potter, since there isn't enough of the two of them together.
